I’m sure you’ve seen this product before. It wasn’t so long ago that ads for Breathe Right Nasal Strips were everywhere. There is some information about that you may find interesting under the background section. What I found shocked me when I looked up the makers of this product, GlaxoSmithKline. There are a number of things I have to tell you about first though.

Benefits

The main benefit of this solution and of all nasal strips actually is that they are very simple. There are no drugs to worry about. There is also no need for a prescription or a trip to the doctor.

You can pick these up just about anywhere now. In fact, you can even get a free sample directly from the company. Nasal strips can sometimes help when used with something like a mouthpiece, but they aren’t much of a standalone snoring solution.

Price

Breathe Right strips are a fairly cheap solution, if you still think of them that way by the time you’re done reading. For the most part you can find them for about $10 either online or in stores. You may even be able to find them for less than that.

Background

This is where things get interesting. GlaxoSmithKline is not a BBB accredited business, nor are Breathe Right Nasal Strips FDA approved. However, that isn’t the problem. GSK is notorious for getting into legal trouble over their advertising.

That statement holds true for this product as well. GSK has had so many claims filed against them through the BBB that they have been given an F rating. The actual amount of complaints was huge. The vast majority of those complaints were about false claims and improper marketing. If you know anything about the pharmaceutical industry then this is probably no surprise to you.

Perks

Although GSK isn’t very good at staying out of trouble, they did their best to make a good product. These nasal strips are available in many varieties and each variety comes in several sizes. Some of the variations include adding menthol to the strip, some are clear, and there are other qualities they play with as well.

Experiences

You may think that there isn’t much that can go wrong with a nasal strip. I was under that impression too. I would never have thought that something like this could pull the skin right off your nose, but they can.

Next to issues with the size and shape of these strips, losing skin when you take them off is the next biggest complaint. This particular issue is much more common that I had originally thought. On the other hand, some users can’t get these strips to stick.

However, I would like to note that most of the complaints about Breathe Right strips were in regard to the original version. As more varieties have come to the market complaints have dropped.

Summary

I do not know of a nasal strip that is capable of completely preventing snoring on its own. Strips like these can be a good compliment to another snoring solution, but that is about it.

I would not use Breathe Right Nasal Strips on their own to prevent snoring. If you want to give them a try with another solution then go right ahead. Just don’t expect these to be a miracle cure.
