The Mediflow Waterbase Pillow was not really made to prevent snoring. This is just something that was made to be better than other pillows.
It may help you sleep better and there is some chance that it could help to keep you from snoring. However, this is not a standalone snoring solution. That being said, it does come with some benefits.
How It’s Supposed To Work
As you may have guessed from the name, this pillow is actually full of water. There is very little stuffing as far as I can tell. All of the support that it gives your neck and head comes from the water which is contained by some sort of plastic. The fact that you fill this pillow yourself gives you some unique benefits.
The main purpose of this product is to help with neck pain and sleep quality. This is done by adjusting the amount of water inside until it feels just right for you.
That is why some people think that it can help to keep you from snoring. In a way, they are right but only to some degree. This pillow alone will not keep you from snoring.
If you are using an anti-snoring device of some kind then you may see improved results if you get one of these. The only thing that may go wrong is that sometimes you may find a leak.
Background
Mediflow pillows are more of a consumer product than anything else, so the FDA isn’t really a concern. FDA approval is not needed for something like this.
The BBB has a little bit of information about this company, but it’s not too bad. Several million of these have been sold since they hit the market and the BBB has only received 1 complaint about them.
The issue appeared to be something related to the guarantee or quality. They are not accredited, but overall the BBB gives Mediflow a B rating. The company also offers a 1 year guarantee on their product.
Differences
An adjustable pillow isn’t something that you see very often. This one reminds me of the Sleep Number Pillow. They both work the same way for the most part.
The big difference is just that this one gets filled with water. It may be a little more difficult to make very small adjustments but it can still be done. Also, this product won’t cost you an arm and a leg. It’s easy to find one for around $40 on the internet.
Experiences
Things are pretty positive in this area. Unfortunately, I must say again, it does not have any real impact on snoring.
It may be useful when used with a snoring solution but this is not enough by itself. However, everyone agrees on a few things:
First of all, it is comfortable. With the ability to adjust it almost infinitely, how could it not be?
Second, it does help some people who have neck pain. That’s what this product was made to do.
The third major thing you can expect is an improvement in the overall quality of your sleep. Just don’t expect it to keep you from snoring. It is a nice pillow, but that’s it.
Overall, Mediflow makes a very comfortable pillow. This is not a snoring solution though, not even close.
I have no reason to make any recommendations against this product but it will not keep you from snoring. To be honest there really is not such a thing as an anti-snoring pillow that works. What I do suggest is checking out my other reviews to find the solution that’s best for you.
