The Snore Eliminator mouthpiece is your standard run of the mill jaw retaining mouthpiece. I’m not a big fan of this kind of device, but it does have one redeeming quality that I will get to later on. It’s good news, but sadly it is unrelated to the quality, design, or effectiveness of the product.
How It Works
Since this is a jaw retainer, it works just like any other. It fits over your teeth and pulls your jaw forward during sleep. By pulling your jaw forward it tries to open the airway at the back of your throat. That is how this kind of device attempts to prevent snoring. There is a small air hole that will allow you to continue to do some breathing through your mouth while you have it in. That is an important feature although some manufacturers neglect to acknowledge it.
The fitting process is pretty standard as well. It is another boil and bite kind of mouthpiece. Most jaw retaining devices are fitted this way. Fitting only takes a few minutes and can often be attempted 2 to 3 times before the device is ruined.
Proof
Of all the snoring solutions I have tried, very few of them have been tested in a clinical setting. Of those that have been tested, even fewer have been tested in a controlled double blind setting. That is the gold standard of clinical testing and this device has been through it.
The BBB does not have any records for this business and that’s not necessarily good or bad. It simply means that they are not accredited and no complaints have been filed either. Honestly, it’s more important that no complaints have been filed. That’s the key. The manufacturer does not mention the FDA anywhere, so you have to assume that the device is not approved, nor is the material. FDA approval is not necessary, but definitely something I like to see. However, they do mention that the material is sterile and hypoallergenic.
The solution itself is backed up by a no questions asked 30 day money back guarantee. This is definitely a good thing. Too many other money back guarantees have so many rules and regulations that getting your refund becomes impossible.
Perks
As I mentioned there is one big perk that comes with this solution. That perk is the lifetime replacement policy offered by the company. It covers loss as well as damage, so it’s pretty broad. However, if the device doesn’t work for you specifically, then why would you want another one?
Experiences
The Snore Eliminator is average in this area. Some initial jaw discomfort should be expected. It appears that few other people have tried this device though. I can’t say I blame them. It is very basic and could be very problematic depending on the size of your mouth.
Although this device comes with lifetime replacements, I have to recommend skipping it. If your jaw really is the cause of your snoring there are better options out there.
You would be better off spending a little more money on something that won’t cause any issues and is more effective. Check out my other reviews to find a better option.
