This solution would be perfect for so many people. However, it would have to actually work for that to be the case. For some people the pillow may help slightly. For most people it won’t do much at all. I’ll explain how I came to that conclusion, so let’s get started.
Just Another Pillow?
Most pillows that are made to prevent snoring are pretty much the same. They try to keep your airway open by putting your head, neck, and shoulders in the proper position. This is a good idea. The only problem with that is everyone is different. Some people may need less elevation. Some may need more. Others may find that they have new aches and pains from the pillow. Some people may just find it uncomfortable to sleep on. Reviews on this specific product are hard to find, but others like it have been known to cause neck pain for many people.
How Does It Work?
Well, it really doesn’t as far as I know. That being said I will still explain how it is supposed to work. Pillows that are supposed to keep you from snoring are usually an odd shape. Normally they look almost like a regular pillow or they may have some sort of angle to them. This one looks like somebody dropped a twenty pound bowling ball right in the middle of it.
The big indent in the middle of the pillow is what’s supposed to make this thing work. If you’re imagining what this product looks like right now think about what would be supporting your neck. Yes that’s right, the highest part of the pillow would be propping your neck up. As you can probably guess, if you mess up the height of that part of the pillow or it doesn’t fit you perfectly you are going to be uncomfortable.
This product is a little different than the other ones on the market. All of the other ones I have seen require you to start sleeping on your side. This one does not. The manufacturer claims that it will help to reduce snoring whether you lay on your side or your back. I don’t know how this could work. The fact that they claim it can be used multiple ways by everyone really makes me wonder. I just can’t see something fitting everyone in different ways so easily.
Other Factors
If you search the BBB for the company that makes this product you won’t find anything. That’s not a big deal but it also doesn’t make things better. This snoring solution does not look like it is FDA approved. Normally makers of devices that are approved make sure you know. There is also a lack of clinical data to back it up. None of these help the case for this product.
I’m going to recommend that you skip this one. There are plenty of other solutions out there that work better. Some of them are even cheaper than this ninety dollar paperweight. If you really want to try one then by all means go ahead, just don’t expect too much from it.
