Women So Loud In Bed It’s Disturbing…
Especially when you’re trying to sleep next to them. So you don’t think that snoring is a problem for women too? I assure you it is.
The biggest difference is that more women are too embarrassed to talk about it or get help.
By the time men and women are almost to senior citizen status the rate of snoring for both is about the same. During the younger years the ratio of men to women that snore is closer to 2 to 1 though.
However, you might be here because you want some help. If that is the case then you’re in luck.
The Truth About Women And Snoring
It happens and it’s not that uncommon actually. Even among young women, if you’re standing in a room of 5 you can bet that at least one of them snores.
Since it is so common that also means that it is nothing to be embarrassed about. You are definitely not alone. By the age of sixty or so you can bet that at least 2 out of 5 women snore. That’s almost half. That number can get even higher if you are among overweight women.
You probably already know that men and women store body fat differently. Did you know that this can affect your chances of snoring? It can indeed. In the throat area, men and women are slightly different.
Women store body fat in different areas here that can make them more likely to snore. If you are overweight then you can expect to have even more fat in this area. Why does this matter?
It matters because extra fat tissue in this area can put pressure on your airway. When pressure is applied to your airway it tends to bend a bit and become smaller. This constriction can cause snoring.
Here’s What You Can Do
There are a wide variety of options available to you. You have all the same options as men. I will give you a very brief overview of the possibilities beginning with the easiest solutions.
First of all, try sleeping on your side. Sleeping in this position can completely stop snoring for some. At the very least it should help. Some other simple things you can do include yoga, exercising, and losing weight. All of those will help even if you are not overweight.
Next up are the simple solutions that just cost a little more. These include things like jaw adjusting mouthpieces and the newer tongue retaining mouthpieces.
There are also a number of sprays, nasal products, and miscellaneous devices that can help. The downside is that they vary greatly in quality and most of them are hit or miss for a lot of people.
Some very high quality solutions are available. You just have to do a little research and find out which one is right for you.
There is a third class of options available, although I don’t recommend them often. Some surgical procedures have been developed to help people stop snoring. More often than not they are risky and end up giving you less than spectacular results.
The cost doesn’t help things either, especially when you consider that many insurance companies don’t want to pay for procedures like this.
If you are one of the many snoring women out there, don’t sweat it. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. There are plenty of solutions available. It’s more or less a matter of finding the best solution for you. Remember this, you are not alone.
Many women snore. It’s not your fault if you do. What’s important is that you take action and research your options. Snoring may be the subject of many jokes, but it definitely isn’t funny.
